Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! It's been a few years really since Haley has dressed up. She turned 16 not to long ago. And.. since we live out in the country we won't see any trick or treaters tonight.

And you know what?

That's ok. I did like when we lived in town to look at all the little kids all dressed up... And I am sure one day again we will live in town but since we are out in the country and enjoy peace and quiet and nature on most days... Well... I will give up watching the T n T'rs! At least for now.

Not too much going on today. Went to breakfast with the Hubster and then back home for more laundry. I am trying to get it all caught up before the end of the weekend. I have said it before and I will say it again... I just don't understand how 3 people can make this much laundry... it is insane!!!

Tonight for dinner we are having something I haven't ever made before... Hamburger Steak. I can't wait to try it and I am sure it will be good! Jim requested that along with homemade mac n cheese. Why not... I make homemade mac n cheese often but never the hamburger steak! Sounds yummy enough!

I am a little bummed this week though because I haven't made any sales from my etsy shop since Monday. Thats sort of a bummer. I have been adding new things to it this week so hopefully something will catch someones eye!

Haley finished up with volleyball on Thursday. It was a very strange year for their team and I won't go into the details about it. But, she is thinking really hard about whether or not she wants to play again next year. I hope she does! I like to watch it!

So, this evening I hope to maybe get a little crafting done. Maybe add a few more things to the shop! So, check it out!

A lazy Rainy Saturday and some things I have been making

Today here in the midwest it is rainy, chilly and windy! It would be perfect fall weather if the sun was shining! Haley had volleyball practice and a breakfast with the team this morning, so I got up and took her there. Came home and did a custom order that I had for Etsy and now... well now when I should really be getting my house in order I am instead browsing the net and writing this post.

My last post I told you of how my husband is getting laid off. That is still happening, but I am trying to have a more positive outlook on it. Perhaps it was just time for a new door to open and this is how God is telling us. I don't know, all I know is that there isn't anything I can do about it and I can just hope that he will show us the way to provide for our family and ourselves. I firmly believe that God won't bring us to it if he can't bring us through it. So, I have a little less gloomy outlook for our immediate future.

It is also making me happy that I have kept my hands busy this week creating things. I have finished my flowers for the Flower Swap at Your Paper Pantry . If you aren't a member of this website and you do any paper crafting at all, whether it be mixed media, art journaling, ATC's, scrapbooking or card making... You need to be a member of this website! The group of women and a few men are awesome! You pay a $12 fee per year (thats only $1 a month!!!) and you get to participate in great swaps and fun times! I couldn't recommend it enough!! I am going to do a video on my flowers on Monday so look for that on my you tube channel.

I wanted to show you a few things that I have made for my shop this week! I hope you will check out my store, you can click on the link in the left side bar at the top. It shows my recently listed creations.

The first on the list to show you are these Pinwheels. How much fun are these?? Really... wouldn't these look perfect on your holiday gift packages are added with a cute tag to your home baked goodies!

Then we have some Holiday Poinsettias! These are perfect to be festive and they won't poison your pets!

And lastly here are some cute tags for your holiday packages! Pair one of these with a pinwheel and some cute gift wrap and you have a perfectly wrapped present!!
I hope you guys all have a fabulous weekend!!

Ahh, another life change...one good, one not so great

Thursday afternoon my husband came home and told me he needed to talk to me. He said that I should sit down... I thought oh boy, this doesn't sound good. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to be laid off on January 1... I was like what? Your kidding right? Unfortunately, he wasn't! Keep in mind, I am still laid off... My unemployment will go through at least April 30th... but sheesh! What else is going to go wrong!

I know we will be fine for a while, but now I have a huge decision to make... Do I go back to work, or do I go back to school like I had previously planned. It is something that has been weighing heavily on my mind. I have to make my decision by the first of November so that I can get registered and set up for school. I do really want to go back to school, but it will be very tough to do if Jim doesn't go back to work right away!

I have been thinking and thinking about trying to do an Etsy shop for a long time, and right now, well I don't think the timing can get any better! I need to do something to prove to myself that I will be able to go back to school as well as bring in enough extra money to help with the bills. So, yesterday I set up web shop on Etsy and today I have listed two sets of my flowers and I am hoping that they will sell! If you have a minute will you check out my shop? I still obviously have a ton of work to do and I am going to make flowers for the good part of the day tomorrow and all of next week in hopes that I can fill it up. I really want to make this work, so here's hoping that it will... Also, I will take any constructive critism about the shop that you can give me! Anything that will give it a chance to be more profitable!

Here is my Header for the shop and the link is below:

I am Back.. I think

Hey Everyone.. I have been absent for about 2 weeks now. Life has gotten a little busy on me! But I think that is in the past now. Haley had two homecomings the past 2 weekends, plus 2 volleyball tournaments and 2 softball tournaments. I had spent all week getting ready for the busy weekends!

I have a couple of photos!
Haley and her Best Friend goofing off before the date pictures!

Haley and her Wolves Teammates after placing second and an ASA National Qualifier!

Haley before her boyfriends Homecoming Dance!

Haley with her Volleyball Team after a Championship Win!

And, here is Haley serving it up!

So you see it has been a busy two weeks! I am getting ready to spend the afternoon in my craft studio, hopefully I can get to work on a few new projects!

Have a great weekend!!
