The Shoes are surely the difference

I have been walking on my treadmill for several weeks now and I always had been getting a pain in my right shin. It would go right up the side. Previous to yesterday I had been wearing a favorite pair of Skechers to walk in.

Well as much as I like them for a casual shoe... they really actually suck for walking in. The sole of the shoe does not flex at all. So, I turned to a trusty pair of New Balance shoes that I had in the closet. The difference was immediate! I felt light when I was walking and there is a definate bounce in my step, even at the end of a 30 minute walk. My shins don't hurt at all and it makes me want to keep going! If you are having problems walking or your shins are hurting try a different pair of shoes because they are all definately NOT created equal!

Other then that, my life has really reached a snails pace. I have been sick with a chest cold for almost a week. I expect a pretty good loss tomorrow when I weigh in. I have still been walking but my appetite has definately not been there at all because of the sickness. I will have my work cut out for me next week when my appetite comes back and I have to maintain that loss and hopefully add to it a bit! I will be able to crank the exercise back up to a walk/jog combo because I won't feel like I am going to hack up my right lung while doing it. I have definately had to tone it down this week. In fact, I did no physical activity on Saturday and Sunday of last weekend. On Monday I started to take it slow and walking in short intervals up to 20 minutes and today I was back up to walking for 30 minutes straight. I hope that tomorrow I can add in the walk/jog combo and get back up to 40 minutes and then add to it from there! I am feeling like I will be up for it! So lets hope so!

The Sadie Hawkins Dance

Ah yes, a midwestern tradition, The Sadie Hawkins Dance. If you haven't heard of it, it is a girl ask the boy dance. Sometimes known as the TurnAbout dance. However, The Sadie Hawkins dance is very casual, the boy and the girl wear matching shirts. A turnabout dance is normally a formal.
Here are a few pictures of Haley and her date rockin' Nickelodian shirts and a group picture before they went to dinner.

Turning the page

Well, this week I was dealt a signifigant blow to my pride. I have always prided myself on the fact that I am an excellant employee, I always excel at work, no matter what job I have had, I have always rose to the top. This week, exactly 6 months since I had to let go some of my employees, I was told that I was going to be laid off at the end of the month. Talk about a blow. Now, let me say that I really love my job. The place I work at, I have called my second home for what would have been 8 years in May. So, of course, I balled my eyes out. I called my sister, my brother, my mother, told everyone that I could, just because I thought maybe it would help me. Then, when Jim got home from work, I told him. I was dreading telling him because he is fairly materialistic and money means alot to him. But wow, he through me for a loop too. He was ok with it, he said, well, now at least you will be able to go back to school like you wanted. Picture my mouth hitting the floor, and that is what I looked like at that moment. At that second it was like the good Lord looked down and the heavens opened up and the angels sang.

So, as it stands now, I will be going back to finish my degree in June. I only have a class left to finish my associates and then I am going to start Graphic Design. At least I think I am. I need to sit on it abit and really think about it, but I am so interested in photography and web design that I think it would such a good fit for me.

I think, I have successfully began to turn the page!
