Recap of last weeks challenge! This weeks new Challenge!

Hey Everyone... I hope your first week on the No Buy Upcycle Recycle challenge went well. I have seen a few of your creations and some of your organization and it is wonderful!

Did everyone make it through without buying any new supplies or goodies? I am still doing good here but I have to say that seeing all the mega Michaels hauls on youtube this weekend sent me reeling a little! But I know that at the end of the month I will have money in hand and I will feel good about sticking to this plan for one month!! And I hope you will too!

If you have been watching my youtube you will know that I have posted my responses to the challenges on there. Both the organizational part as well as the craftilicious part! You all know I worked pretty hard this week on getting my studio up to snuff and trying to keep it that way. I have done a pretty good job! Everything is still tidy and neat and I have been trying to make sure I clean up each night before I call it quits!

Earlier in the week I started on the second part of my challenge. I used a faux wax seal that I have had in my stash for many  many years.. ( seriously at least 8 years) and I added it to the center of a flower for a tag!

How many of you guys remember these or still have them in your stash?

Too funny right... I bet all you gals that have been scrappin' for a long time can pull a couple of these out of your stash.. They were all the rage way back then!! Here is a picture of what I created with my oldie but still a goodie supply!
I used the Tim Holtz #8 tag die and cut out my tag from a manila folder. Then I covered it with the new Joann's Die Cuts With a View Immortal Love stack! I have to say I LOVE THIS PAPER! It is a great weight and you don't have to make something Vampirish with it! This tag is just a nice romantic looking tag.  I used a feather I had picked up at Hobby Lobby, the bling you see is something I glued on the paper using small rhinestones. I think the spacing came out pretty good :D I have 2 iamroses skeleton leaves and the flower I made using Satin and cut it out 8 times with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die. I used some stickles and some Vintage photo distress ink to finish out the look! Then tied it together with some black ribbons and ric rak!

And then finally I altered one of the dress forms that I had... I am going to use it to show off my swap items that I get back from all you talented ladies!!

Ok---On to this week!
The challenge is this week is:

Try one technique that you have been holding off trying! For example.. I am either going to create metal tags this week using the huge roll of metal I have had for about 5 years.. or I am going to work with my watercolor pencils that I have had for about 10 years and never used once!

For the Recycle/Upcycle Challenge this week:

Take one thing from your household that you were going to throw away this week and use it to create something fabulous!!

I can't wait to see what you guys create this week! Make sure you are posting your progress and letting me know :D

Have a wonderful day!!!

  1. Way to use those older supplies. I used to have those exact same wax seals. Your projects are beautiful!
