I guess this means I am officially old!

At approximately 10 am this morning, I officially became old. Today, my daughter.. my only child.. my baby... took her drivers license exam.. Today... I became the parent of a licensed driver.. My god.. how did this happen?

A little more then 16 years ago, God brought a little tiny baby girl into our lives.. now she is grown up.. A sophomore in high school.. A LICENSED DRIVER!!

Wait, What???

Damn... I am old.

Lord, please keep her safe... I feel like half of my hair turned grey today as she drove away to head back to school.. All by herself.. I think I have said a hundred little prayers today... asking the lord to keep her away from harm.. and keep his hand on her.

So, maybe... if you feel so inclined... you could say a prayer for Haley... in hopes the Lord will hear it and keep her safe!

--oh maybe you could throw a little one in there for me too.. hopefully I will keep my sanity!!

Haley--right after she got her permit in May.

  1. Julie,
Prayers going up for you & Haley! I know your pain...my oldest will be turning 16 in less than a month. I'm thankful that she has no interest in driving just yet, although she does ask questions while I am driving...LOL! and I'm sure you have already told her (over and over again), that a PHONE CALL OR TEXT is not as important as her life. If she must call and/or text, tell her to pull off the road and stop before doing so. Many hugs and prayers coming your way!

  2. Karen that is for sure one of our rules... I have seen and heard about way to many fatal accidents involving cell phones!
