Paper Flower Tutorial- Rolled Rose using Die Cut

I love love love this flower! I did a video tutorial on how to make it here: Flower Tutorial Rolled Rose Using Die Cut! Check it out if you want to see actual footage of the flower being assembled!

Now, on to the photo Tutorial!!

What are you going to need?

Sizzix- Spiral Garland Die
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Water or Your favorite shimmer mists

Using this die, Cut out one flower. Make sure that you the paper you want to show, is facing you when making the die cut. (you will notice the change in pattern papers in this tutorial, I cut it the wrong way. Save yourself! )
Spray your die cut with either plain water or use your favorite shimmering mist! I will use my homemade version!

Now, you will want to start folding your spiral in half as show in the next picture. Your paper does need to be damp to fold it. Otherwise it will be more difficult. You will need to work fast here because it rolls much easier when damp.  You don't have to do this, but I like the way it looks. If you choose not to do this, that is ok. Your flower will still look nice! All steps are the same if you do or don't fold the flower.

On to the next step (did you notice the change in papers? :) ) taking the starting edge, fold it down 90 degrees.

Now, from the bent edge start rolling towards you. This will be the center of your flower, so roll slightly tighter here.
Continue Rolling until you come to about an inch from the end. (approximately, you will be able to tell when to stop.)
You will need to glue the "flap" down to the bottom of the flower. Do yourself a favor and use hot glue. It dries fast and works great for these flowers! (Be generous with the hot glue as well. It is holding your spiral in place.)
And Voila! Your flower is complete! I love how these look. Normally I would distress these with Vintage photo and not add a center, but this color blue just called out for a little center! Add stickles or glitter to make it extra sparkly!

I hope you create these! Make sure to click the link at the beginning of this post if you want to see the video tutorial!
For those of you who don't want to make these, or don't have the time. I am selling them on at my Etsy shop. I hope you will come on over and check me out!
