Hey Everyone! Today I want to show you a Christmas gift that I have made for my mom. I upcycled a used cork bulletin board that I purchased at Goodwill for this. I also used a slew of Pro31 Designs products on this board. I will include all of the links to the products at the end of this post so that you can purchase them for yourself!
So what are the Ingredients for this project? You will need the following:
Bulletin Board- new or used
Fabric to cover
Old Tshirts or quilt batting
Staple gun and Staples
Tacks
Ribbon
Embellishments to decorate your new Memo Board!
Lets Get Crack-a-lackin!
1. Start with a bulletin board. Any size will work! Check your thrift stores!
2. If you have Batting use it in place of the old t-shirts. I used two old t-shirts for this project because I did not have any batting on hand. If you have batting, you only need one layer. Measure and cut your t-shirts to fit and then staple them down to adhere. I used a regular office stapler for this part.
3. Measure and adhere your covering fabric (I used Burlap) then attach with a heavy duty stapler. Make sure you pull it as tight as you can possible pull it so you don't get any ripples in your fabric.
4. Trim away any excess fabric and make sure you reinforce the corners with an extra staple or two!
5. Add your ribbon. I used 5/8 Satin ribbon. Just try and make sure your lines stay even. It is a bit difficult, but you can do it! The second picture shows how I adhered it with Heavy duty staples! At Each Intersection of ribbon, place a thumbtack!
6. Embellish with your favorite embellishments! Mine are all from Pro31 Designs!
